wherein most of the people who fall sick with COVID-19 will experience mild to moderate symptoms.
HOW COVID-19 SPREADS?
The virus can spread from an infected person’s body to a non-infected person by:
- Coughing through small liquid particles in the mouth or nose
- Sneeze
- Breathe
- Touching a contaminated surface
These particles range from larger respiratory droplets to smaller aerosols.
You can be infected by breathing in the virus if you are near someone who has COVID-19. The virus spreads more easily indoors and in crowded settings.
WHAT IS A PCR TEST?
PCR means polymerase chain reaction. It’s a test to detect genetic material from a specific organism, such as a virus. The test detects the presence of a virus if you have the virus at the time of the test. The test could also detect fragments of the virus even after you are no longer infected.
WHAT IS ANTIGEN TEST FIT TO FLY?
These tests, sometimes called swab or antigen tests, check to see if you are currently infected with the virus. The swab sample is taken from your nose and throat. Alternatively, a saliva sample might be used. This sample is then tested to see if you have the virus.
